Volunteering Opportunities
We heartily welcome volunteers at Helfand. You can do valuable work while you learn from accomplished gardeners.
Gardening and Greenhouse Volunteers Wanted!
Every Saturday, 10:00 am to 12:00 pm
Work with fellow Helfand volunteers, as we work on the Plant Sale, Weed n’ Pick and Soup Kitchen Garden. This is a great opportunity for hands-on learning. Can’t make it Saturday? No Problem! We have additional volunteer time slots throughout the week.

Mowers, Trimmers, and Maintenance Volunteers Wanted!
It takes a lot of mowing, trimming and maintenance to keep the Community Gardens in tip-top shape! Our greatest need is for mowers and trimmers (a riding mower, line trimmer, or push mower are available). Additional odd jobs are available…everything from plot cleanup, rototilling and equipment maintenance to sweeping the tool shed. Volunteer for the job that matches your interest and time.
For more information, please contact Ben: benjamin.rivard.rapoza@gmail.

About the Soup Kitchen Garden
Helfand Farm Community Gardens contributes thousands of pounds of fresh produce to soup kitchens in the area every year. Volunteers are an important part of making that happen.
Whether you are a first-time gardener or following a lifelong passion, working on the Soup Kitchen Garden is a great opportunity to learn and practice organic gardening. Helfand Soup Kitchen Garden uses organic, small-scale techniques that are directly transferable to your own garden.
